A database design, data analysis and professional writing services company...
Insight Database Design & Consulting was officially licensed and established in Fairbanks, Alaska in 2008 by the current owner, André R. Breton. However, the origins of the company go back much farther in time to a collaboration with Overbyte Database Design and owner, Michael Dicola, in 1999. The collaboration involved a database consultant (Michael), a biologist and PhD candidate at the University of New Brunswick in Canada (André), and a capture-mark-recapture demography study on Atlantic Puffin, a charismatic seabird. The product of that collaboration, a relational Microsoft Access Database coined "Seabird Finder" by Dr. Steven Kress of the National Audubon Society's Seabird Restoration Program, was launched in 2000 and has remained an integral part of Steve's research program ever since. From these early days, Insight Database Design & Consulting has established itself as a leader in the development of new and redesigned relational databases designed specifically for wildlife and fisheries professionals. In addition to these services, Insight has expanded and now offers consulting in data analysis and professional writing, including peer-review publication. On-going and past contracts include principle investigators from non-profit, academic, state and federal agencies. As of November 2009, Insight Database Design & Consulting has been based at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, in the progressive, Earth-friendly community of Fort Collins, Colorado ...
