"Since 2000, Insight Database Design & Consulting has served as our consultant to create and manage unique databases for our research and contributor needs. André Breton brings to his company a unique set of qualifications. He has a keen understanding of relational databases, experience from decades of seabird biology field studies and a solid customer service ethic. I enthusiastically recommend his company to others looking to create and manage large wildlife datasets."
... Stephen Kress, PhD, VP for Bird Conservation and Director of Audubon's Seabird Restoration Program
"Working with Insight Database Design & Consulting has been a wonderful experience: from data analysis to financial reports to modifications to the user-interface, André has always delivered an efficient solution. Following André's redesign of our Donor Database, we now accomplish data entry in minutes and our constituents are very pleased to have information out to them in a timely manner. Our financial investment with Insight Database Design & Consulting has been well worth it."

"Insight has built several databases for seabird data shared among myself and colleagues in eastern North America, and provided regular enhancements and updates to them as required. Dr. Breton has also collaborated with me to analyse seabird data for publication in major international journals; he has also advised my graduate students from time to time. His expertise is very valuable to us, his rates are very reasonable, and working with him is a continuing benefit to my lab.."

Gull Finder

Breton et al. 2008
"Like many wildlife biologists, I worked with individually marked birds over a period of 20 years.  Mountains of data were collected by a variety of students and technicians.  Little thought had been given to relational database design and my knowledge of the area and computer skills were less than primitive.  Luckily I found Andre` through Michael Dicola. They used their experience gained developing the Seabird Finder database to build Gull Finder, a capture-mark-recapture database for my Great Lakes Herring Gulls. Andre’s infinite patience and skills resulted in a database I could work with.  He painstakingly normalized and entered all the data.  My dream has become a reality and we can now ask and answer some important questions about the demography of Herring Gulls breeding in Lake Ontario in relation to environmental change and toxic chemical exposure.  It has been a pleasure to work with André."
... Glen A. Fox, Wildlife Toxicologist, Canadian Wildlife Service
